Yesterday I met my sister-in-law Sara and niece Mykal out at the farm to do some photos for her seventh brithday. Mykal isn't a huge fan of being in front of the camera, so Sara came up with the idea of treating it as play time instead of a photo session - which is something the "lifestyle" photographer in me LOVES. We just followed her around for about an hour while she explored. She stomped through the mud with her feather walking stick (that she made all by herself!), climbed a mountain of logs, built a beaver lodge, jumped off of some of the higher spots she found and even stumbled upon a curious cow. I was really impressed with her willingness to stop and give me some posed shots when I asked and even take her coat off for a few minutes so we could get some cute ones in her "statement" outfit (red and black are her new favorite colors!)
